Resident Evil — new movie scene

State of Play also made a stop on the big screen with a new sequence from the upcoming Resident Evil movie. Directed by Zach Cregger, the new film returns to Raccoon City and showed a particularly violent scene from the outbreak engulfing the city.

Marvel's Wolverine — launch trailer

Insomniac presented the full launch trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, one final major look before Logan arrives on PS5. The video once again highlights the brutality of combat and some of the characters who will cross paths with the mutant.

Release: September 15, 2026, exclusively on PS5.

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition returned to State of Play to show the new content included in this version. The headline addition is the return of Jin Sakai as a playable character in Most Wanted, a new single-player survival mode with a roguelike structure.

The Complete Edition also includes the additional Echoes of Sekigahara content and will be available physically.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance

Capcom showed a new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the major expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds. The adventure continues after the main campaign with a new region, new monsters, new mechanics and new threats to face.

New additions include Gundoraja, a new Elder Dragon, and the Skybound Eyrie region.

Release: 2027 on PS5.

Metro 2039 — extended gameplay reveal

Metro 2039 received an extended gameplay presentation, including the first console footage captured on PS5 Pro. The video showed The Stranger moving through the ruins of Moscow, combining exploration, resource management and the tense combat that defines the series.

Maneater 2

The shark is back. Maneater 2 was officially unveiled for PS5 and takes the first game’s formula to Neptune's Kingdom, a massive private theme park where players once again take on the role of the predator.

The sequel is being developed by Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios in Unreal Engine 5.

Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown

The adventure of Crimson Desert continues in Charting the Unknown. The new DLC takes Kliff, Oongka and Damiane to new areas of Pywel as they set out to discover their purpose and shape the paths ahead of them.

Release: October 15, 2026.

Final Fantasy Resonance — demo available now

Final Fantasy Resonance received a new trailer and a free PS5 demo. The demo includes the entire first chapter and lets players carry their progress into the full game.

The new video also revealed Sephiroth, who can be faced during the adventure.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation

Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will conclude the three-part remake project. The new look featured exploration aboard the Highwind, grappling-hook traversal and chocobos, along with more of the FITS combat system and character synergies.

Release: April 8, 2027 on PS5.

Gundam Rogue Orbit

Gundam Rogue Orbit showed new footage of the threat RE-X will face while piloting the Gundam Helix. The new trailer expanded on the previously revealed world and finally confirmed the release date.

Hunter's Moon

Hunter's Moon offered another look at its rural horror, with a constant sense of threat, masked figures and a mystery hidden among fields and forests.

Release: October 26, 2026.

Uncanyon

Uncanyon is a new puzzle adventure from Graceful Decay and Annapurna Interactive, the creators of Maquette. Sonia explores a world where different realities converge, using their overlap to reshape environments and solve puzzles.

Release: 2027 on PS5.

Keeper comes to PS5

Keeper, Double Fine’s surreal adventure starring a walking lighthouse and a bird, is now available on PS5. The game tells its story without dialogue, blending exploration, puzzles and a strong visual identity.

Availability: out now on PS5.

Rev. NOiR

Konami shared a new look at Rev. NOiR, its upcoming JRPG. The presentation finally revealed more of the party-based combat system and the world surrounding the mysterious threat known as Lightfall.

Release: planned for 2027.

Rhapsody in Scarlet

Konami also unveiled Rhapsody in Scarlet, a new action game in development for PS5. The first look blends 1920s New York with supernatural elements and a threat of apocalyptic proportions.

Platform: PS5. More details will be revealed at a later date.

Until Dawn 2 gets a release date

Until Dawn 2 returned to State of Play to confirm the sequel’s release date. The new story trades the original game’s snowy mountain for a different setting while keeping choices, consequences and the fight for survival at the heart of the experience.

Release: January 28, 2027. Pre-orders: September 10, 2026.

Conq

Conq was revealed with its first trailer. The new war experience takes place in a shared open world where players can lead armies by land and sea, attack fortresses, build siege engines and fight for different factions in large-scale battles.

Daba: Land of Water Scar

The action RPG Daba: Land of Water Scar, from Dark Star Games and part of the China Hero Project, showed a new trailer for its fantasy world, starring a clay man travelling through lands where the water has vanished.

Release: February 2027 on PS5.

Digimon Story Time Stranger: A Hero’s Eternal Legacy

A Hero’s Eternal Legacy is a new expansion for Digimon Story Time Stranger. Set three years after the main game, it introduces a new protagonist and partner and adds around 50 new Digimon.

Release: 2027 on PS5.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 was confirmed for PS5. The new adventure will once again let players create their own hero, develop a personalised fighting style and face some of the most powerful opponents in the Dragon Ball universe.

Release: 2027.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World

The new trailer for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World showed more of the two young Monster Wranglers and the creatures accompanying them as they explore a mysterious alternate world.

Release: December 3, 2026 on PS5.

Fate/Extra Record

Fate/Extra Record confirmed its release date. The full remake expands the Moon Holy Grail War and reworks the Command Card system with a strategic deck-building component.

Release: January 28, 2027 on PS5 and PS4.

Gran Turismo 7 — Spec IV

Gran Turismo 7 is preparing a two-part Spec IV update. Two new circuits, 12 cars and new modes are planned, including Drift Trials Online, Random Races and a Family mode designed for players with different skill levels.

Availability: content rolling out between October and December 2026.

PlayStation Plus — new games announced

State of Play brought four new additions to PlayStation Plus. Mycopunk joins the Game Catalog in October. In the Premium Classics Catalog, Mega Man X: Command Mission arrives in September, followed later this year by Dino Crisis 2 and the original Ratchet & Clank.

Rematch × Blue Lock

Rematch teams up with Blue Lock in a new collaboration bringing the series’ Egoists to Sloclap’s multiplayer football game.

Availability: September 24, 2026 on PS5.

SlashZero

The side-scrolling action roguelike SlashZero received a limited-time PS5 demo featuring three playable characters, bosses and more than 10 hours of content. The new trailer once again showcased its fast combat across fragmented timelines.

Release: Spring 2027.

Stupid Never Dies

Stupid Never Dies received a PS5 demo, with progress carrying over to the full release. The new trailer showed more zombie-slaying action and the system that lets players steal abilities from powerful monsters.

Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad — Genesis Maiden

Genesis Maiden, the first DLC for Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad, adds a new story set on Aincrad’s early floors, with Mito joining the fight and new gameplay additions.

Release: late 2026.

The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes

The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes will be the series’ first console game. The action roguelite focuses on the Seven Shadows and features an original story supervised by author Daisuke Aizawa.

Release: 2027 on PS5.

Where the Seeds Fall

Cygames introduced its new CygamesEdge label and its first project, Where the Seeds Fall. The action adventure follows a soldier and a Fallen Child descending the World Tree toward a surface consumed by the Blight.

Release: November 5, 2026 on PS5.

World Phasebound Control Authority: WPCA

World Phasebound Control Authority: WPCA is a new action RPG set in Seoul. Players take on the role of a Containment Agent and enter isolated zones to confront increasingly strange supernatural phenomena.
